The Battle For The Strongside Linebacker Job

Alex Anzalone is a name that Saints fans have come to know and love. Unfortunately, his 2019 season was marred by injury and he ended up playing in just two games.

Heading into the 2020 season, Anzalone has some work cut out for him to keep his starting job.

New Orleans went into the NFL Draft looking for some defensive help. They were excited to take Zack Baun with the No. 74 overall pick. In 2019 with the Wisconsin Badgers, Baun racked up 76 total tackles to go along with 12.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one interception, a defensive touchdown, and two defended passes.

Baun is a big-time talent and the Saints won’t shy away from starting him in year one. This is a big-time battle to watch and will be important if New Orleans wants their defense to take a step forward this year.
