The defensive end free agent class was a relatively weak one this offseason before the Kansas City Chiefs added Frank Clark to it. Coming off of a Super Bowl victory, the Chiefs attempted to work out a restructured contract with Clark, but nothing came to fruition and the team decided to move on.

Frank Clark has been a steady producer for the Chiefs on their defensive line the last four seasons after playing with the Seattle Seahawks for the first four seasons of his career. But, it is in the postseason that he really begins to shine.

In four playoff appearances in Kansas City, Frank Clark has racked up 10.5 sacks. In 17 career postseason games, he has a total of 13.5 sacks as he performs when the lights are brightest. Turning 30 years old in June, there is still plenty of gas in his tank.

There are a number of teams that could be interested in the two-time Super Bowl champion to help bolster their defensive line rotations. One team is the New Orleans Saints.

There was a mass exodus of defensive line talent from New Orleans this offseason as they were once again in a salary cap bind. Marcus Davenport, David Onyemata and Shy Tuttle all signed elsewhere in free agency, leaving a big void.

The Saints already signed one defensive lineman away from the Chiefs, agreeing to a deal with Khalen Saunders, so there could be a draw for Frank Clark. He would also be a stout combo with Cam Jordan, who remains productive even at 34 years old.

Another team to keep an eye on is the Cleveland Browns. They received virtually no production from their defensive line outside of Myles Garrett in 2022. With Jadeveon Clowney hitting free agency again, the team signed Ogbonnia Okoronkwo to take his place on the edge.

Adding Frank Clark to that mix would turn what was a weakness for the Browns in 2022 into a strength in 2023. Capable of setting the edge, Frank Clark would be a nice bookend partner along with Okoronkwo opposite of Garrett and in some situations, all three could be on the field together.
