3. D.K. Metcalf Goes for 1,200 Yards
Tyler Lockett led the Seahawks in receiving yards last season. While the former return man has a strong rapport with Wilson, Metcalf possesses a higher ceiling. The 6-4, 229 lb. receiver ran a 4.33 40-yard dash at last year’s combine. He’s a physical freak capable of imposing his will on any defense.
Metcalf showed fans a sample of his potential in the playoffs last season. Against the Green Bay Packers, Metcalf made seven receptions for 160 yards and a touchdown. He led the Seahawks past Aaron Rodgers and on to the Divisional Round.
The key for Metcalf reaching a Pro Bowl level in 2020 is consistency. There are weeks where he’s one of the best players on the field, but sometimes the Ole Miss product vanishes.
The highs with Metcalf are extremely promising, but the lows raise many questions. Playing with Wilson and a great supporting cast should create plenty of opportunities for Metcalf in his second season.
