Josh Jacobs is coming off of a career year with the Las Vegas Raiders. However, that still did not lead him into a long-term contract. This has now led to some understood frustration from the Pro Bowl Running Back. Jacobs ended up being placed under the team’s franchise tag for the upcoming season. Although, that does not necessarily mean the Raiders would not explore trade options come draft day if the right deal came about that worked out for both sides with the Seattle Seahawks being a legitimate team to watch.
Last season, Jacobs rushed for over 1,650 yards and 12 touchdowns. He averaged 97.2 yards per game, which is a career-high for the former Alabama star.
Jacobs is still just 25 years old. However, with the recent trajectory of running backs in the NFL, it seems like teams value them a lot less than they used to. But, Jacobs still has plenty left in the tank to provide to many teams.
Some teams to keep an eye on that could potentially make a deal with the Raiders include the Buffalo Bills, Arizona Cardinals, and Seattle Seahawks. Some dark horse teams that could be in the line of making a move for a running back are the New England Patriots, Minnesota Vikings, and the Denver Broncos.
What makes the Seahawks a potential destination is that they have the money to spend on a deal that would benefit Josh Jacobs and Seattle, along with having plenty of draft capital. The idea of pairing Jacobs with Kenneth Walker is extremely intriguing. The duo could very well end up being one of the best in the entire league next season if formed.
The Seahawks hold two first-round picks this season. It could give them the flexibility to make a move and still have plenty of draft picks. Seattle has a total of 10 draft picks. Four coming in the first two rounds and two coming from the Russell Wilson trade to Denver.
