Mike Tomlin, the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, continues to reshape his coaching staff in 2024.
After the conclusion of the 2023 season, the Steelers decided to part ways with offensive coordinator Matt Canada. In his place, they made a significant hire by bringing in former Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith to assume the role of offensive coordinator.
Tomlin’s restructuring efforts don’t stop there, though. The Steelers have also bid farewell to wide receivers coach Frisman Jackson, marking the end of his two-season tenure with the team.
These changes may not be the last, as reported by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
“Frisman Jackson, who has been the team’s wide receivers coach the past two seasons, will not be rehired, according to multiple team sources. And it is unclear what will happen with quarterbacks coach Mike Sullivan and running backs coach Eddie Faulkner, each of whom served as co-coordinators after Matt Canada was fired in November.”
It’s worth noting that these adjustments come on the heels of the Steelers’ recent Wild Card round defeat at the hands of the Buffalo Bills, highlighting the team’s determination to regroup and improve moving forward.
One thing that is crystal clear, is the fact that Mike Tomlin is not happy with the finish that his team had in 2023. He is hoping to push the Steelers back towards contention next season.
