The Tennessee Titans are undergoing some major changes during the 2024 NFL offseason. They moved on from head coach Mike Vrabel after six seasons as head coach, replacing him with Cincinnati Bengals’ offensive coordinator Brian Callahan.

The personnel on Callhan’s offense will also look vastly different. Running back Derrick Henry, who has been the focal point of the Titans’ offensive attack for years, is likely moving on. The same can be said about veteran quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who was replaced by Will Levis last season and is hitting free agency.

If the Titans want Levis to continue developing, Callahan is a solid hire as he comes from an offensive background and oversaw an explosive unit with the Bengals. But, the supporting cast around him needs to be upgraded as well.

Tennessee should be looking to add some more talent at wide receiver this offseason. Beyond veteran DeAndre Hopkins, this group needed more production. He led the team with 75 receptions for 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns. The next closest wide receiver was Nick Westbrook-Ikhine with 28 receptions, Chris Moore with 528 yards and Westbrook-Ikhine with three touchdowns.

The Titans need more out of 2022 first-round pick Treylon Burks, who was picked with the selection the team received from the Philadelphia Eagles as part of the A.J. Brown blockbuster. He has yet to find his footing in the NFL, playing in only 11 games in each of his first two seasons.

To get this offense on track, general manager Ran Carthon needs to bring in some more established talent. One player he could look to target is wide receiver Marquise Brown, formerly of the Arizona Cardinals.

“Tennessee has the contested catch savant in DeAndre Hopkins and sophomore Treylon Burks as another big body who can win deep or catch bubble screens and get upfield when healthy, but Brown brings an entirely different dynamic to a passing game that desperately needs help. Hopkins is entering a contract year, so Brown is the pricy veteran for 2025 and beyond as Tennessee continues to rebuild,” wrote Brad Spielberger of PFF.

Brown would bring some big play ability to Tennessee, providing the team with a downfield threat. There would be some risk bringing him into the mix, as he has also struggled to stay healthy at times, missing 3+ games in two straight seasons.

But, he would provide the Titans with another established option at wide receiver and someone they can build around with Hopkins entering the final season of his contract. His presence could take some pressure off of Burks as well, who is entering an important season in Year 3 in the NFL.
