Could Tom Brady seriously make a return to the NFL?

The legendary quarterback has already come out of retirement once before, and if you believe his recent comments, he may end up doing it again.

During a recent appearance on DeepCuts with VicBlends, Brady said he is “not opposed” to an NFL return, naming the New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders as teams he may be interested in joining.

Brady qualified his statement by saying he is not sure if the league would allow him to play considering he is about to become a minority owner of the Raiders, but he said it could be like Michael Jordan coming back. Remember: Jordan owned the Washington Wizards when he returned to the court in 2001.

The difference is that Jordan was 38 years old when he came out of retirement for the second and final time. Brady, on the other hand, turns 47 in August.

Brady retired after the 2021 campaign, but it was short lived, as he announced he would be returning to the NFL later that offseason.

Even at the age of 45, Brady was still productive in his final season, throwing for 4,694 yards, 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions while completing 66.8 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 90.7 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also led the NFL with 5,316 passing yards and 43 touchdown passes the year prior.

Of course, Brady is most known for his 20-year tenure with the Patriots, where he led New England to six Super Bowl championships and collected three MVP awards.

He would also guide the Buccaneers to a title during the 2020-21 season.

The chances of Tom Brady actually getting back on the gridiron are probably slim to none, but the fact that he is even considering it shows that he still has the itch to play.
