2. Front Seven
The Vikings will have one of the top defenses in the NFL this season. They have talent all over the field, especially in the front seven. When looking back to last year’s matchups, the defensive front will have to step up and make adjustments.
Matt LaFleur was a rookie head coach in 2019 but he was able to put together a good game plan against Minnesota. This rang true for the run game.
Aaron Jones rushed for 270 yards and three touchdowns in two games against the Vikings last season. Jones averaged 5.9 yards per carry in those contests. Aaron Rodgers makes this offense go, but Jones is a huge factor that will need to be contained.
If Minnesota stops the run, this makes the Packers one dimensional and they will have to rely on their thin receiving corps. They cannot allow Jones to get going early and keep momentum throughout the game.
