For all his talent, upside and soon to be riches, Cook has yet to play all 16 games in a season. A torn ACL cost him 12 games as a rookie in 2017, then a hamstring issue cost him five more in 2018.
A chest issue in Week 11 last year didn’t cost him any games immediately, even if he was noticeably limited. But a shoulder injury in Week 15 was the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back, and Cook missed the final two games of the regular season.
Cook is stretching toward being labeled injury prone, if he’s not there already. If can simply stay on the field for every game, as much as that can be deemed so simple, the sky is the limit for him in 2020.
