Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson received quite an honor earlier this week. He was one of two players to be inducted into the 99-Club in this year’s edition of the Madden NFL video game. Los Angeles Rams star defensive tackle Aaron Donald was the other player, as he received the honor for a record-breaking seventh time.

For Justin Jefferson, this is the first time that he has received a 99 in the video game and it was something that he was very excited about. He shared how honored he was on Twitter, saying this is something he used to do when creating himself in Madden as a kid.

“Y’all have no idea what it means to be a 99 in Madden!! Since I was 7y/o I been creating my own player making him a 99 and now I don’t have to,” Jefferson tweeted.

However, not everyone was as jovial as Justin Jefferson was about the honor. Social media is full of trolls and even celebratory posts like the one that he made will draw some out. Not surprisingly, it was a Green Bay Packers fan that attempted to tarnish his achievement.

The Packers fan asked Justin Jefferson to post his stats from Week 17 of the 2022 season. That week, the Vikings lost in a blowout to the Packers and the star wide receiver had only one catch for 15 yards as his day at the office was over pretty much before it got started.

While many comments like that will normally get ignored, Justin Jefferson found some time to respond. He dunked on the troll, telling them to post their stats from the game.

Naturally, the interaction stopped there. Justin Jefferson not only roasts people on the football field while running routes, he is now doing it on social media to people looking to stir the pot as well.

Receiving a 99 overall in Madden is quite an achievement as only the best of the best have made that club. Madden 2024 is the first time that Justin Jefferson has received such recognition, but it almost certainly won’t be the last, especially if he continues playing at the level we have become accustomed to seeing him play at.
