Why Jerry Jeudy is exactly what the New York Jets need in the NFL Draft

Why Jerry Jeudy Is The Best Fit For The Jets In The First Round

Let’s just dive right in and take a look at the production that Jeudy provided the Crimson Tide with in 2019.

Jeudy put together a big season for Alabama this year, catching 77 passes for 1,163 yards and 10 touchdowns. Those numbers average out to 15.1 yards per reception. New York needs a guy who can make plays deep, while also being capable of being a great possession wideout.

Standing in at 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, Jeudy has great size, speed, and athleticism to go along with good route running and an excellent pair of hands.

Some have come out and shared concerns about durability for Jeudy, while others don’t think he’s going to be big enough to win jump balls down the field. The good news is that the Jets don’t necessarily need him to do that. They just need him to get open and make plays when Darnold gets him the football.

New York cannot afford to continue struggling in mediocrity on the offensive side of the football. Darnold is a good quarterback who needs weapons in order to be the franchise quarterback the Jets think he can be.

If Jeudy does end up falling to No. 11, taking him is a no-brainer for the Jets. On the other hand, if they pass on him, New York will once again be regretting a brutal draft mistake.

Jeudy is the perfect fit for the Jets this year and the team can only hope and pray that he makes it to their pick in the first round.
