Take Volume Output to Another Level

Whenever a young receiver increases their volume output by 408 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns as Courtland Sutton did last season, it’s safe to say they made legitimate strides in their development.

Something to keep in mind, the role Sutton received played last season was substantially greater than what he served in as a rookie. He received 40 more targets and made 14 starts in 2019 compared to just nine in the season before.

There won’t be as much room for significant growth in volume stats for Sutton after the Broncos made real strides in the talent of their supporting cast. However, there is still certainly some room for an increase to occur, nevertheless.

A goal Sutton should look to achieve is to raise his receiving yards to as close to 1,250 as he can get while also striving for at least eight receiving touchdowns. This would take him to the next tier when ranked among the NFL’s top receivers.
