3 reasons Titans QB Ryan Tannehill will replicate his 2019 success

The Tennessee Titans were led by former No. 2 overall pick Marcus Mariota at the quarterback position heading into the 2019 season. That changed after a slow start to the season, opening the door for Ryan Tannehill to get a needed second chance.

It wasn’t until a Week 7 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers that Tannehill was given his first start of the season. The Titans hit their stride with him under center and were looked backed as they managed to go 7-3 and earn a spot in the Wild Card Round.

The success the Titans experienced to close out the regular season carried over into the playoffs. They ended Tom Brady’s legendary tenure with the New England Patriots to start and sent the league MVP home early in the following round.

While the Kansas City Chiefs proved to be too much to handle for the Titans in the AFC Championship Game, it was truly a successful season that almost nobody could have predicted.

Tannehill ended the season completing 70.3% of his pass attempts for 2,742 yards, 22 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He managed to lead the NFL in quarterback rating (117.5) and basically all major metrics that measure yards gained per attempt.

With that being said, here are three reasons Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill will replicate his recent success in 2020.
