3 running backs the Redskins could target in the NFL Draft

Cam Akers

Similar to Moss, Cam Akers is a running back in this year’s class that refuses to go down without a fight. At Florida State, Akers was the running back that received the honors of replacing Dalvin Cook in 2017.

To cap off a fantastic three seasons at Florida State, Akers rushed for a personal best 1,144 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2019. Plus, Akers showed some flashes as a receiver, catching 30 passes for 225 yards and four touchdowns.

With Peterson nearing the end of his career, the Redskins could look to add a running back that could share touches with Guice in the future. It’s also important to note that Guice and Love have shown an inability to remain healthy thus far in their careers.

If Washington is adamant about selecting a running back, they won’t find many that are better than Akers in the middle rounds.
