3 steals the Panthers should target in the fifth round or later in the NFL Draft

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Khalil Davis, IDL, Nebraska

One of the biggest positions that the Panthers will have to address in this draft is the interior defensive line. The loss of Gerald McCoy and Dontari Poe this offseason will be hard to recover from. Carolina will probably address the position early, but they will also need to find depth later on.

Khalil Davis would be a great second defensive lineman for the Panthers to take in the draft. Davis has the size and talent to compete for the starting job despite being pegged as a late-round pick.

The most likely outcome is that Davis will be a depth piece, but that still helps the Panthers. Davis posted 11 tackles for loss and 8.0 sacks in his final year with Nebraska. If Davis can translate his game to the NFL, he could be a steal for Carolina.
