3 Teams Who Should All-Out Pursue Trade For Raiders’ Davante Adams

Davante Adams is now in his second season with the Las Vegas Raiders, and he is already growing impatient.

Following the Raiders’ 23-18 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night, the star wide receiver voices his frustrations, saying that he doesn’t “have time to just wait” as the club dropped to 1-2.

Although it’s still very early in the season, Adams can likely see the writing on the wall. Las Vegas went just 6-11 last year, and it hasn’t shown any signs of progression in 2023.

Could Adams ultimately force the Raiders to move him before the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline?

It doesn’t seem like an unrealistic possibility at this point.

Should Las Vegas opt to place Adams on the trade block, here are three teams that should immediately pursue him.

Kansas City Chiefs

Can you imagine the connection between Patrick Mahomes and Adams? It’s scary to think about. A trade with the Raiders would make the Chiefs almost unstoppable.

While the Chiefs are 2-1 and are coming off of a dominant 41-10 win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday, it’s pretty clear that the club needs help at wide receiver.

After losing JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman in the offseason, Kansas City is very thin at wide out. The team does not have a No. 1 option at the position, and I’m not sure any of the Chiefs’ current receivers even represent reliable No. 2 guys on most teams.

Adams makes perfect sense for Kansas City, as he would fill a massive hole and would provide Mahomes with two lethal options in the aerial attack between himself and tight end Travis Kelce.

While the Chiefs did have a breakout performance in Week 3, they totaled just 37 points in Weeks 1 and 2, so their offense could probably use some assistance.

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys were hit with a reality check in Week 3, losing to the Arizona Cardinals following a dominant 2-0 start.

One thing that has been noticeable is that Dallas’ passing offense has not been great this season, as it ranks just 19th in that category.

Yes, Dak Prescott has stud receiver CeeDee Lamb at his disposal, but behind him, the Cowboys have more depth than they have starpower.

Throwing Adams into the mix would likely give Dallas the best one-two punch in the NFL at the wide receiver position, and it would make things a heck of a lot easier for Prescott, who hasn’t looked his best over the first three weeks.

The Cowboys have not quite been able to replace Amari Cooper since trading him in the spring of 2022. Davante Adams would not only be able to replicate Cooper’s production, but he would go above and beyond anything Cooper provided for the club during his time in Dallas.

If they can get a deal done with the Raiders, they should pursue it with everything they have.

New York Giants

The Giants are in desperate need of some help at wide out.

While New York has some decent pieces at the position, it does not have a No. 1 talent, which is making Daniel Jones‘ job that much more difficult.

As a matter of fact, the Giants haven’t had a true star at receiver since Odell Beckham Jr., so this is a need that has plagued Big Blue for quite some time.

That’s why New York should jump right on the phone if Adams becomes available.

Davante Adams could form a terrific tandem with Jones, who showed flashes of brilliance in 2022 but has struggled through the first three games of 2023.

Sure, it would cost the Giants quite a bit of draft capital to make a trade with the Raiders, but New York is trying to win now and needs some type of boost. After all, the club has made the playoffs just twice since 2012.
