4 major questions for the Dallas Cowboys following Week 1 loss to Rams

Special Teams

The Cowboys special teams unit from last season was horrendous. This was addressed immediately with the hiring of John Fassel from the Rams. Fassel was hired to spice things up a little bit and at times in Week 1 it looked better.

The issue with their loss at the Rams is that in training camp, there was no kicking competition. The Cowboys signed former Rams kicker Greg Zurlein and immediately waived kicker Kai Forbath.

Sure “Greg the Leg” looked great in training camp but there was also zero pressure on him as well. Competition creates leaps in skill level.

Missing a 50+ yard field goal is nothing to get crazy over, but once again, images of the 2019 Cowboys appear in our heads.
