4. When is Michael Thomas coming back?

Thomas suffered a high-ankle sprain in the season opener against the Bucs. He has missed the last two weeks and the Saints’ offense has missed him in the worst way.

There has been no offensive rhythm in New Orleans. If the ball is not in Alvin Kamara’s hands, there is little chance of a big play. In the loss to the Packers, Kamara carried the ball six times for 58 yards. He added 13 catches for 139 yards and two touchdowns.

Emmanuel Sanders and Drew Brees have made some plays, but have not completely meshed just yet. This connection will grow stronger and open up when Thomas is on the field. He is the best receiver in football and it is clear that Brees misses his top target.

The Saints’ offense is not in trouble. It is just hard to ignore that there has been a lack of rhythm over the last two weeks. When Thomas returns, it should look a lot smoother.
