3. Watch Out for the Steelers’ Weapons
There was plenty of intrigue surrounding the Steelers’ offense entering the season considering Ben Roethlisberger recovered from a season-ending elbow injury. However, the additions to the offense the team made in the offseason shouldn’t be overlooked.
If there is a better way to have a ‘Welcome to the NFL’ moment than Chase Claypool had in this game, there certainly aren’t many. The Steelers’ second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft pulled off an incredible 84-yard touchdown reception — showcasing his impressive potential.
The Steelers’ leading receiver in this matchup ended up being Diontae Johnson — racking up eight catches, 92 yards, and one touchdown grab. Factoring in James Conner bouncing back from an underwhelming Week 1 with 106 rushing yards and one touchdown, Pittsburgh had enough firepower to get a win.
There are enough established players in the Steelers’ offense to help sustain a solid floor. However, if Pittsburgh can continue to see progress from Claypool in his development throughout the season, the ceiling of the unit will substantially raise.
