Aldon Smith Was a Defensive Standout
One positive for the Dallas Cowboys defense was the return of Aldon Smith who hadn’t played in an NFL game for five seasons due to off-the-field issues and personal battles.
Smith has taken the correct steps in his life, allowing him to return to the NFL, and he took advantage of that in Week 1 for Dallas in the loss to Los Angeles.
Aldon Smith finished tied with Jaylon Smith with 11 combined tackles each as Aldon Smith had six solo tackles, plus he also added one sack for a six-yard loss, one tackle for loss, and two QB hits.
This was a big-time performance by Smith is his NFL return, and if he’s rested and injury free going into Week 2 then he could be on call for another strong showing as he gets back to being a top defensive player like he was in his first stint in the NFL.
