Xavier Rhodes Can Still Be An Elite NFL Cornerback
One of the big questions for the Colts this season had to do with what to expect from veteran cornerback Xavier Rhodes. While he didn’t make any huge plays in the first two weeks of the season, that changed against Darnold and the Jets.
Rhodes broke out with a massive performance to lead the Colts’ defense. He intercepted two passes, returned one for a touchdown, and also recorded a tackle.
If the Colts can get this version of Rhodes for the rest of the season, they will finally have the lockdown cover corner that they have been needing for years. Rhodes was one of the best cornerbacks in the game just a few short years ago. Perhaps this is the game that will get him back on track.
Indianapolis should be very excited with what they saw from Rhodes. They haven’t had a strong defense for awhile and that seems to have changed.
