3. Defense Set The Tone For Chiefs

The typical situation facing the Chiefs is that incredible contributions on offense manage to be the driving force being a win.

In this game, the Chiefs’ offense had to go up against a great defensive unit and didn’t put up massive numbers that we have all come to expect. Instead, they did enough to get the job done.

Meanwhile, it was the defense for the Chiefs that forced four turnovers and contained the Patriots to just a single touchdown. In fact, Kansas City’s defense and New England’s offense each scored one touchdown.

The Patriots’ offense being without Cam Newton substantially lowered their ceiling, but overall, the Chiefs didn’t allow that to lower their guard. Kansas City came out aggressively and took advantage of the matchup.
