Ben Roethlisberger
There is a lot riding on the shoulders of Ben Roethlisberger this season. The Steelers’ defense is elite and they were almost a playoff team despite atrocious quarterback play last year. The return on Big Ben could mean Pittsburgh is ready to make a Super Bowl run.
However, we do not really know what version of Roethlisberger we will see on Monday. He has always been a tremendous fighter. However, coming off season-ending right elbow surgery at age 38 is a tough fight to win.
Although any type of veteran leadership from Roethlisberger will likely put Pittsburgh in a better situation than last year, seeing him fully healthy would be very exciting. If he can return to the QB he was in 2018, then this Steelers team could be Super Bowl-bound. However, if his elbow causes issues, then it may be another fight for the playoffs for Pittsburgh.
While the Giants’ defense doesn’t have any huge stars, they are a unit that could surprise. The duo of Markus Golden and Lorenzo Carter makes a good pair of edge rushers. Blake Martinez is still young and has shown Pro-Bowl potential in the past. However, their secondary has a few holes.
If Roethlisberger can light up the secondary, the Giants have no chance of winning. This will also bring a lot of excitement to Steelers nation, and give them hope at winning another Super Bowl.
