Sheldon Rankins, Defensive Tackle, Saints
The biggest key for the Saints this week will be making sure that they keep Packers star running back Aaron Jones in check. Yes, slowing down Aaron Rodgers is a must, but Green Bay saw Jones put up a career performance against the Lions in Week 2.
Jones carried the football 18 times for 168 yards and two touchdowns last week. He also caught four passes for 68 yards and a touchdown. Sheldon Rankins will need to clog up the running lanes in the middle to limit the Packers’ rushing attack.
Standing in at 6-foot-2 and 305 pounds, Rankins is a run-stuffing tackle. He needs to take his game to a new level this week.
If the Saints want to win this football game, they will need to make sure that Jones and Jamaal Williams don’t have big games on the ground. Taking away the ground attack will force Rodgers to take a much larger load. That is what New Orleans needs to get done to move to 2-1.
