4. Rushing Attack
This is an X-Factor that goes for both teams. Washington and Arizona fared completely different in their season openers when it came to running the ball.
The Cardinals took on one of the best defenses in the San Francisco 49ers and were able to get comfortable. Kenyan Drake carried the ball 16 times for 60 yards in this one. Murray led the charge on the ground with 91 yards. This is what cannot happen if you are Washington in this game.
Washington was able to stuff the Eagles’ rushing attack. Yes, Miles Sanders did not play but the defensive front looked dominant.
The Cardinals’ game through the air looked far better than that of Washington. This is an area where Washington struggles on both sides of the ball. If Arizona can get the run game going, they will be able to get whatever they want. For Washington, they need to be able to run the ball to take some pressure off Dwayne Haskins.
