4 players who must step up for the New England Patriots in 2020

Jarrett Stidham

Once Brady chose to sign with the Buccaneers, there was much speculation on who the Patriots could replace Brady with. Could they sign Cam Newton, Jameis Winston, or Andy Dalton? Or could they pursue one of the incoming quarterback prospects?

Instead of doing either of those things, Belichick decided to remain put with the quarterbacks they currently have. Given that, it appears that it will be Jarrett Stidham that gets the first crack at replacing Brady in New England.

In the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Patriots took Stidham, allowing him to learn under Brady for a year. As a rookie, Stidham only attempted four passes, completing two of them for 14 yards and an interception. While New England saw two decades of success with Brady, there is an immense amount of pressure for Stidham to keep the Patriots’ dynasty alive.
