The Steelers’ Defense is Unquestionably Better

In 2019 the Pittsburgh Steelers went 8-8 despite having one of the worst offenses in the league. The reason that they were able to still win so many games in because of their dominate defense.

The Steelers ranked third in defensive yards given up and that level of dominance is expected to continue in 2020. On the other hand, the Giants ranked 28th in yards surrendered in 2019 and may not have made enough changes for that to significantly improve this year.

In a game where one team will have a revitalized offense going up against a defense that struggled and is largely unimproved, Pittsburgh has the upper hand. The defenses are going play a huge role in this one as the offenses try to get in rhythm without any preseason games.

Pittsburgh will shut down New York and provided plenty of good field position for the Steelers offense to work with.
