Turnovers Will Be key, and Steelers Do It Better
Part of what happens when a team is consistently in the face of the opposing quarterback is bad decisions. And in the NFL a bad decision usually results in a turnover. Last year, the Steelers had the most turnovers forced and were the second-best team in forcing interceptions. This opening night matchup will be a great way to force several more turnovers and begin 2020 where 2019 left off.
While Daniel Jones was not overly reckless with the football in his rookie season, he did show enough concerns (throwing for 12 interceptions) to side with the Steelers in this matchup. Pittsburgh is going into a big night game without having to worry about “actual” crowd noise impacting their game.
The momentum and flow will be different enough that the home-field advantage will be lessened. Without that boost, Jones gets scared after being hit so much and tosses some ill-advised passes that are intercepted.
The Steelers will win this game by stopping any momentum the Giants try to create. Holding them to a very low score and searching for answers in week 2.
