49ers: 3 early bold predictions for QB Jimmy Garoppolo in 2020

Jimmy Garoppolo is fresh off of a season that saw him lead the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, the 49ers were unable to knock off the Kansas City Chiefs, despite a lead late in the game. Now, the franchise will need their quarterback to take another step forward.

While Garoppolo may have been the quarterback for San Francisco, the running game carried him. He was not the main reason the offense was moving the chains so efficiently. At times, the 49ers didn’t even put the football in his hands.

Looking ahead to the upcoming 2020 NFL season, the 49ers are going to need a much more dangerous passing game if they want to get back to the Super Bowl.

Last season, Garoppolo ended up completing 69.1 percent of his pass attempts for 3,978 yards, 27 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. Those numbers don’t look bad at all. In the playoffs, Garoppolo completed 63.8 percent of his 58 pass attempts for 427 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions.

All of that being said, let’s dive in and take a look at three early bold predictions for Garoppolo with the 49ers in 2020.
