The San Francisco 49ers picked up arguably the most dominant, statement win of the season in Week 13. They went into the City of Brotherly Love and destroyed the Philadelphia Eagles, 42-19.

The Eagles had no answers for the 49ers’ explosive offense, which was clicking on all cylinders the entire afternoon. San Francisco rolled up 456 yards of total offense and turned Philadelphia into a one-dimensional team that had to rely solely on the arm of quarterback Jalen Hurts.

The results, as expected, were ugly if you weren’t pulling for the 49ers. They are now 9-3 on the season, tied with the Detroit Lions for the second-best record, and only one game behind the Eagles, who are 10-2, for first place in the NFC.

A lot of credit should go to 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, who played an excellent game. He completed 19-of-27 passes for 314 yards and four touchdowns without an interception. Purdy led the way as all of the key contributors on the team’s offense made big plays throughout the game.

The star of the show as wide receiver Deebo Samuel. He touched the ball only seven times but made the most of those opportunities. He caught four passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns, adding 22 yards and another score on the ground.

After the game, All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner praised the performance of Samuel, as he believes Samuel is one of the best players that he has ever seen. On Monday, it was Samuel’s turn to share the love, as he made a bold statement about his quarterback during an appearance on Up and Adams.

“My boy #1 right now it ain’t even up for debate,” Samuel said when talking to Kay Adams.

Samuel certainly isn’t the only person who feels that highly about Purdy. After the 49ers’ dominant victory over the 49ers on Sunday, he became the odds-on favorite to win the MVP award at multiple sportsbooks, jumping ahead of Hurts.

Purdy, the last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, has made a meteoric rise during his tenure in the league. He is certainly playing at an MVP level, as he leads the NFL in multiple statistics, including completion percentage, touchdown percentage, quarterback rating and QBR.
