Chandler Jones Has His 2020 Breakout
Chandler Jones has been one of the best edge rushers in the NFL for years now. And he still is, even if he doesn’t yet have the numbers to show for it.
That could change on Sunday, however. Since coming into the league in 2020, Jones has never had fewer than two sacks through the first three games of a season, and even though that streak snapped this year with only one through three games, there should be reason to think that Jones can have a monster game in Week 4.
Jones’ will get the chance on Sunday to play against one of the weakest offensive lines in the league, one that has already allowed its quarterback to be sacked eight times over their first three games. And while the Panthers’ have had their hands full with some talented pass-rushers, they might not have faced one quite as skilled as Jones yet.
Just like Murray after his disappointing performance in Week 3, Jones could be heading into Week 4 with a chip on his shoulder after not looking like the two-time All-Pro player that he is. Jones won’t stay contained forever, and Week 4 against the Panthers gives him a good chance at a breakout.
