Leonard Fournette Gets a TD

Last week, the Panthers had a very tough time stopping the run. Josh Jacobs was able to get two rushing touchdowns. While Leonard Fournette was not very effective last week, he is still a back with talent.

Fournette is very new to the team. The Saints also have one of the best defenses in the NFL. This week the Buccaneers may turn to their ground game a bit more. Fourentte will serve as the red zone back who will power into the end zone.

After a poor performance last week, many are sick to write off Fournette. However, last year he was a top ten player in total yards. He has a lot of talent, and the Buccaneers offense still has a lot of potential. After a short offseason, facing the Saints during the first week of the season is a tough task.

Last season Fournette only had three rushing touchdowns. As big and physical as Fournette is, he was not utilized in the red zone in Jacksonville. However, he is the much bigger back between him and Ronal Jones.

While Jones has a lot of upside, Fournette could still be a very valuable piece to this offense. Much like Carolina had trouble stopping Josh Jacobs’ powerful brand of running, Fournette will be very effective in the red zone and even score a touchdown this week.
