5 teams who should pursue a trade for Texans star JJ Watt at the trade deadline

The Patriots have to be on this list, because every time a star player becomes available, Bill Belichick seems to be lurking right around the corner.

Here’s a reminder of just some of the veterans the Patriots have acquired over the years: Albert Haynesworth, Darrelle Revis, Randy Moss, Josh Gordon, and most recently Antonio Brown.

Watt does not come with off-field issues, like Gordon and Brown, or character issues like Haynesworth. But Watt does come with an injury history.

Still, when he’s healthy — and currently, he is — Watt is an absolute difference maker. There is a lot of crossover between the Patriots and Texans organizations, and the history between executives could lead to a conversation about Watt.
