The Baltimore Ravens continue to receive good news on safety Marcus Williams, who has been sidelined each of the last two weeks with a hamstring injury.

The Ravens’ official X account provided an injury report on Thursday, and Williams was able to practice in a limited capacity for the second straight day.

Of course, this does not necessarily mean that Williams will be available when Baltimore takes on the the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, but it’s certainly a step in the right direction.

Williams has dealt with multiple injuries this season, as he also missed Weeks 2 through 4 as a result of a pectoral injury.

In the three games he has played in 2023, Williams has logged 10 tackles and a couple of passes defended.

The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Utah, was originally selected by the New Orleans Saints in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He spent the first five years of his career with the Saints and was a very consistent and productive member of the team’s defensive backfield, playing in all but five games between 2017 and 2021. His most productive campaign in New Orleans probably came in 2019 when he registered 55 tackles, four interceptions, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, 13 passes defended and a defensive touchdown.

Williams then signed with the Ravens in March 2022 and went on to miss seven games during his first year with the club. In the 10 games he played, Williams posted 61 tackles, four picks, a fumble recovery and eight passes defended in a solid debut season.

Even with Williams missing considerable time in 2023, Baltimore’s defense ranks second in the NFL in yards allowed and is No. 1 in scoring defense.

The Ravens are 6-2 and sit in first place in the AFC North division.
