1. Devonta Freeman
The Bears need talent on offense wherever they can get it. This is especially true at the running back position. After trading Jordan Howard to the Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago handcuffed themselves at the position.
David Montgomery was given the starting job in 2019 and ran for 889 yards during his rookie season. He averaged just 3.7 yards per carry. After Montgomery, the Bears have Tarik Cohen, who acts as more of a pass catcher. On the outside, Allen Robinson is a strong receiver and Chicago has done plenty of work adding tight ends.
Freeman is a back that would immediately improve the Bears’ offense. He is a two-time Pro Bowler. At 27 years old, Freeman has a chance to get a fresh start with a new team. He has not been signed because his demands are high. Freeman will want a lot of money and some teams cannot swing the price.
If the Bears have the flexibility to sign Freeman, this is the No. 1 move they could make. Trubisky and the offense need all the help they can get and adding a running back like Freeman would be a huge get.
