Bengals: 3 early goals for running back Joe Mixon in 2020

Earn himself a payday next offseason

Around the NFL, teams have had differing opinions on paying running backs an immense amount of money. Luckily for Mixon, the Bengals have shown interest in giving him an extension after the 2020 season.

But before the Bengals give him a new contract, Mixon is going to have to prove himself once again next season. While it’ll be important to produce impressive numbers in 2020, it will be vital for Mixon to remain healthy if he wants to land a long-term deal.

Without a doubt, Mixon has already earned himself a raise in his first three seasons with the Bengals. At the same time, if he can improve upon what he’s already done, Mixon could be poised to increase his value even further next season.

Of course, winning more games should be a goal for Mixon and the Bengals in 2020. On the other hand, for a running back, it’s always a priority to be able to earn a second contract in today’s NFL.
