Similar to the other running backs from the 2017 NFL Draft, Joe Mixon is heading into a crucial year with the Cincinnati Bengals. As a second-round pick in 2017, Mixon is entering the final year of his contract and he hopes to garner a decent payday in 2021.
In his rookie season, Mixon flashed upside with the Bengals, totaling 913 yards from scrimmage in 14 games. Then, over the past two years, Mixon has taken his game to another level despite playing for a team that has failed to produce much success in the win column.
Just a season ago, Mixon recorded 1,424 yards from scrimmage and eight total touchdowns. This came after the 2018 season, in which he contributed 1,464 yards from scrimmage and nine total touchdowns for the Bengals.
Nevertheless, as he prepares for the 2020 season, Mixon probably has heightened expectations for himself in his fourth year in the NFL. With that in mind, let’s take a look at a few early goals that Mixon could look to achieve in 2020 with the Bengals.
