Ja’Marr Chase came into the 2021 NFL season expected to be a good player for the Cincinnati Bengals. No one could have foreseen what ended up happening in his rookie season. He not only ended up being a good player, he ended up being a rising star and one of the main reasons why the Bengals ended up getting into the NFL Playoffs.
In his rookie year, Chase caught 81 passes for 1,455 yards and 13 touchdowns. Those numbers placed him among the best rookie wide receivers in recent years. Cincinnati has themselves a superstar in the making.
Following Week 18, it became official that Chase led the entire NFL in one very intriguing statistic. Pro Football Focus shared his huge achievement on Twitter.
Standing in at 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, Chase is without a doubt a mismatch waiting to happen against almost any defense. He has the size to make plays over defensive backs and the speed to blow past anyone who defends him. Chase is also a great route-runner, which makes him the complete package.
Not only is he a great player, but his chemistry with Joe Burrow goes back to LSU. The two are always on the same page and that makes for a very intriguing future between the two.
The Bengals have done an excellent job of building their offense through the draft. Cincinnati also has Tee Higgins as their No. 2 weapon at wide receiver, which is very above average. Chase and Higgins are going to be a feared duo for years to come.
It will be interesting to see what Ja’Marr Chase has in store for the Bengals in the playoffs. They will face off against the Las Vegas Raiders to start the postseason in the Wild Card. Maybe we’ll see another monster performance from the star rookie.
No matter what happens in the playoffs, the Bengals are going to be a serious contender for a long time. With Chase and Burrow leading the way, Cincinnati won’t be going away from the national spotlight anytime soon.
