Browns: 3 bold predictions for Baker Mayfield in Week 1 vs. Ravens

After much anticipation after a busy offseason, Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns put together a disappointing 2019 campaign. They finished with just a 6-10 regular-season record and instead it was the Baltimore Ravens that took the next step.

There’s plenty of reasons to expect a bounce-back season from the Browns in 2020. For starters, the head coach role is filled by former Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski, whose offensive system was precisely what Kirk Cousins needed to reach the next level.

With Odell Beckham Jr. healthy and talents like Nick Chubb, Jarvis Landry, and Austin Hooper, the Browns have no shortage of talent around Mayfield on offense. It only helps that Cleveland upgraded at head coach and made some intriguing changes on the offensive line.

It will require a substantial turnaround for the Browns to be able to overtake the Ravens as the top team in the AFC North in 2020. In fact, Cleveland will have to first overshadow the Pittsburgh Steelers when it comes to the division standings.

For Mayfield, he is coming off a season where he completed just 317-of-534 (59.4%) pass attempts for 3,827 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 21 interceptions. He took a clear step back from the impressive production he provided the Browns in his rookie year.

With that, let’s take a look at three bold predictions for Baker Mayfield when the Cleveland Browns take on the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1.
