What to Expect from Rob Gronkowski in 2020
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers do already have a solid tight end in O.J. Howard but Rob Gronkowski will undoubtedly be the team’s top option at this position. There shouldn’t be much impact to Gronkowki’s numbers as the result of Howard.
ESPN recently released their league-wide projections for all of the NFL’s offensive players ahead of the 2020 season. The numbers Gronkowski is estimated to achieve include totals of 77 targets, 51 catches, 690 yards, and five touchdowns.
The expectations ESPN has for Gronkowski appear to be quite reasonable when considering the circumstances. The Buccaneers won’t need to constantly target him since they do have plenty of other talented options to feature.
The main objective for the Buccaneers must be to closely sustain its volume in total yards from scrimmage and scoring while managing to cut down on turnovers. For that to happen, Brady will need to connect with Gronkowski in the red-zone often.
It won’t be easy for the Buccaneers to contend in the NFC when evaluating the landscape of the competition. They will need to out-compete the New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons, and Carolina Panthers in their own division before looking ahead to the next level.
