Despite being under the new regime of general manager Monti Ossenfort and head coach Jonathan Gannon, the Arizona Cardinals sound committed to Kyler Murray as their franchise quarterback. Murray, who signed a massive extension in 2022, returned to the field in 2023 after an ACL tear and had some up-and-down results.

The Cardinals could have certainly placed him on the trade market and recouped as much draft capital as possible while clearing salary cap space. But, the team is instead choosing to retain Murray and build the roster up around him.

One of the positions that could certainly use an upgrade is wide receiver. Over at PFF, wide receiver was selected as the Cardinals’ biggest need heading into the 2024 NFL offseason. With No. 1 receiver Marquise Brown heading into free agency, the need is quite a big one.

The Cardinals could opt to bring back Brown in free agency, something that is certainly on the table as he and Murray have a good relationship. But, his production took a step back this season despite playing in two more games than he did in 2022.

Brown is a solid player, but even if he returns, there is a need for a bonafide No. 1 option in the passing game. If the Cardinals look to the NFL Draft to fill that need, their pick should be Ohio State star, Marvin Harrison Jr.

“Imagine if former Colts legend Marvin Harrison Sr. was 4 inches taller and 20 pounds heavier. That’s a good way to explain his son as a prospect. MHJ’s technique is beyond his years. He has elite body control, reliable hands and WR1 athletic ability,” as shared by PFF’s Big Board analysis.

This year’s wide receiver class is a deep and talented one, but Harrison stands out amongst his peers. He is a truly intimidating presence that possesses everything you want to see for a potential No. 1 wide receiver.

His size, athleticism and attention to detail make him a tantalizing prospect. He is exactly what the Cardinals need as a No. 1 receiver to help elevate the skill position groups around Murray. That could be a dynamic duo for years to come in the desert.

A two-time All-American with the Buckeyes, Harrison dominated the last two seasons for Ohio State. He caught 67 passes for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, which followed a 2022 in which he caught 77 passes for 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns.
