10 QB hits

At Oklahoma, Kenneth Murray was an absolute menace at navigating through traffic. Across 40 starts, he registered a whopping 36.5 tackles for loss, which is good for an average of 12.2 per season, as well as 9.5 sacks.

Considering how many stars he’ll be playing around on the Chargers front six — Joey Bosa, Melvin Ingram, and Linval Joseph, to name a few — there should be plenty of holes for the 21-year-old to exploit.

Nobody’s expecting (at least we hope not) Murray to notch double digit sacks. However, as long as he avoids injury and plays as many snaps as the training camp buzz is suggesting, we can definitely see him getting after the quarterback enough to post 10 QB hits.

The college football statistical database, unfortunately, doesn’t keep a log of QB hits, but based on the aforementioned tackles for loss and sacks Murray totaled with the Sooners, we don’t doubt that his tally was among the best in the NCAA.
