The Chicago Bears are set to take on the Green Bay Packers in Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season. Obviously, this matchup is one of the biggest rivalries in sports, but there is one other major thing to watch to begin the year. Jordan Love will make his first start as the Packers’ new franchise quarterback as they move on from NFL legend Aaron Rodgers.

While Love has received a lot of positive hype throughout the preseason for his strong play, the Bears are not taking any notice. In fact, they are throwing some shade at the young signal caller.

With Week 1 right around the corner, Bears’ cornerback Kyler Gordon made some interesting comments about the Packers’ new quarterback.

“He’s a young QB. I don’t really have much to say about him, to be honest.”

This kind of quote may not be what you think of when the term “throwing shade” is used. However, Gordon made it clear that he’s simply uninterested in the Packers’ quarterback. In a way, he’s dismissing the fact that Love is even a threat to the Bears.

Love will have his work cut out for him filling Rodgers’ shoes. The Packers have a very young supporting cast outside of star running back Aaron Jones. At this point in time, their top three receivers are Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Jayden Reed, who have two years of regular season experience combined.

Right off the bat having to face a division rival in the Bears will be a tough test for Love. It is also a test to see just how good this Bears team is capable of being. Many have been hyping Chicago up as a potential playoff contender after being the worst team in the NFL last season.

Expect to see some Week 1 fireworks between the Bears and Packers. These two teams hate each other and all eyes will be on Jordan Love to see how he withstands the pressure of playing in a massive rivalry game to begin his tenure as Green Bay’s starting quarterback.
