In a nail-biting overtime showdown, the Kansas City Chiefs, led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, clinched a thrilling 25-22 victory against the San Francisco 49ers. This win not only solidified Mahomes’ prowess but also marked a significant milestone in his career, with 15 playoff victories under his belt, surpassing the legendary Peyton Manning.

Adding to his growing list of accomplishments, Mahomes now boasts three Super Bowl victories, outshining Peyton Manning’s tally. Manning, renowned for his stellar performances with the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos, secured Super Bowl triumphs in the 2006-07 and 2015-16 seasons, respectively.

Mahomes’ recent Super Bowl conquest over the 49ers marked his second championship win in as many years, the first being in the 2019-2020 season, also against the 49ers.

Remarkably, at just 28 years old, Mahomes has already etched his name among the NFL elite, amassing three Super Bowl titles and joining the esteemed ranks of players with three Super Bowl MVP awards, alongside Tom Brady and Joe Montana.

Setting records with each game, Mahomes stands alone as the sole quarterback in NFL history to start in four Super Bowls before reaching the age of 30. Contrasting with Manning’s early career, where Super Bowl appearances were elusive, Mahomes has flourished, amassing over 5,100 postseason passing yards—a stark contrast to Manning’s sub-2,500-yard tally before turning 30.

Comparing Mahomes to other standout quarterbacks under 30, the disparity is evident. While Green Bay Packers icon Brett Favre amassed 3,390 postseason passing yards in his younger years, Mahomes has more than doubled that figure with an impressive 41 postseason touchdowns, eclipsing Favre’s 25.

Further cementing his legacy, Patrick Mahomes finds himself tied for second in game-winning touchdown passes in the fourth quarter or overtime in NFL playoff history, alongside Kurt Warner, with three such clutch performances. Only Joe Montana holds the top spot with four, a testament to Mahomes’ remarkable ability to shine when the pressure is at its peak.
