Rock Ya-Sin
Ya-Sin had a rough rookie season as one of the primary corners in Indianapolis. He was the 2nd-most targeted corner in the NFL with a target rate of 15.3% and didn’t prove much of his potential; he gave up 14.4 yards per catch and 3 receptions per game.
Ya-Sin can take a huge step forward in 2020 for his sophomore season. While having the typical ups-and-downs that all would have in his position (starting as a rookie), Ya-Sin showed flashes of his potential. In only 11 games, he tallied 61 tackles, 5 pass breakups, an interception, and a fumble recovery. His 5.5 tackles per game tied for the highest per game amongst all Colts corners (tying with Kenny Moore).
“He had some really good moments, and he had some ugly moments. Let me tell you what I love about this kid, he’s exactly what we thought he was going to be in terms of grit, toughness,” said GM Chris Ballard in January. “Holy crap you line up 16 games and you’re asked to play some great players. All he does is work.”
Ya-Sin led all Colts defensive players in snaps last season due to various injuries and showed much improvement towards the end of the season. He’s set to have a breakout 2020 campaign behind his extensive in-game experience and sheer will to improve.
