Colts: 4 bold predictions for the Indianapolis offense in 2020

Philip Rivers completes 70+ percent of his passes

During his 16 seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, Rivers was revered as one of best quarterbacks in the NFL at one point. While he never quite reached elite status, there were moments that he was on the cusp of ascending to the elite group of quarterbacks.

After three consecutive Pro Bowl seasons from 2016-2018, Rivers mightily struggled in his final season with the Chargers in 2019. The former first-round pick in the 2004 NFL Draft would throw for 4,615 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions. At the least, he would complete a respectable 66 percent of his attempts.

As a result of that, in his 14 seasons as a starter, Rivers has never fallen below a 60-percent completion percentage. His career-high completion percentage is currently 69.5 percent. With Reich’s offense fixated on efficiency, Rivers could set a new career mark, converting on over 70 percent of his passes in 2020.
