The Dallas Cowboys underachieved during the 2019 season. With the expectation of winning the NFC East, they ended up falling short of that goal and posted an 8-8 record. That wasn’t at the fault of standout running back Ezekiel Elliott, though.
There was a focus on Elliott’s contract holdout leading up to the start of last season. That raised the expectations for his contributions and the six-year, $90 million extension he landed certainly added to that as well.
Overall on the season, Elliott totaled 355 touches, 1,777 total yards from scrimmage, and 14 combined touchdowns. Most of that work was done in the ground-game as he racked up 301 carries, 1,357 rushing yards, and 12 rushing touchdowns.
There wasn’t a lot of praise for Elliott’s contributions as many have just come to expect this type of production. It didn’t help that he got off to a slow start for his standards, likely due to the fact that he wasn’t a regular participant in the Cowboys’ training camp.
With that being said, let’s take a look at two massive bold predictions for Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott in 2020.
