Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton raved about Minnesota Vikings quarterback Josh Dobbs following the Broncos’ win over the Vikings this past Sunday.

“Considering what he’s been through, where the year began … with Cleveland and then it was Arizona, and what he’s doing now, there’s so much that goes into playing that position,” said Payton, via Zach Ragan of A to Z Sports. “And to see the poise he’s playing with is really remarkable. I haven’t seen anything like it.”

Dobbs initially signed with the Cleveland Browns back in March 2023 before being traded to the Arizona Cardinals in August. He made eight starts with the Cardinals in place of the injured Kyler Murray before ultimately being dealt to the Vikings ahead of the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline.

He went on to win his first two games in Minnesota before losing to Denver in Week 11. In his first three games with the Vikings, Dobbs has thrown for 647 yards, four touchdowns and one interception while completing 65.6 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 94.4.

On the season overall, Dobbs has totaled 2,216 yards, 12 touchdowns and six picks while completing 63.5 percent of his throws and registering a passer rating of 84.7.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Tennessee, was originally selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He spent the first four seasons of his career with the Steelers, making six appearances and throwing a grand total of 17 passes. He then went on to sign with the Tennessee Titans, where he made a pair of starts last season.

Overall, Dobbs has played in 19 games with 12 starts and has amassed 14 touchdowns and nine picks.

Sean Payton’s Broncos have won four straight games and are now 5-5 after a dreadful 0-3 start. Meanwhile, Josh Dobbs and the Vikings are 6-5.

Denver will battle the Browns next weekend. Minnesota will host the Chicago Bears next Monday.
