Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore faced his old Carolina Panthers club on Thursday night and came away with a 16-13 win.

It marked the first time Moore had seen the Panthers since they traded him to the Bears during the offseason, but he insisted that there was nothing special about the game for him.

“There really wasn’t none,” Moore said when asked if he had any extra motivation against his former mates, via Marquee Sports Network. “I talked to some people, some people I didn’t talk to, but it’s alright. My emotions wasn’t too high. I was pretty chill, I think. You’ve got to ask them, but I think so.”

Moore logged five catches for 58 yards in the victory.

On the season overall, the 26-year-old has caught 52 passes for 793 yards and five touchdowns.

Moore, who played his collegiate football at the University of Maryland, was originally selected by Carolina with the 24th overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft.

He played in every game during his rookie campaign and was impressive, registering 55 catches for 788 yards and a couple of scores. Then, the following year, Moore broke out, hauling in 87 receptions for 1,175 yards and four touchdowns.

That marked the first of three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons for Moore, who topped out at 1,193 yards in 2020.

Moore then took a bit of a step back last season, snaring 63 balls for 888 yards while reaching the end zone seven times.

The Panthers then traded DJ Moore, two first-round draft picks and a second-rounder to the Bears for the No. 1 overall selection in last spring’s NFL Draft, which Carolina used to take quarterback Bryce Young.

Chicago’s win over the Panthers marked the club’s second win over its last three games and pushed its record to 3-7 overall. The Bears will head on the road to take on the Detroit Lions next Sunday.

Meanwhile, Carolina fell to 1-8 and will host the Dallas Cowboys on Monday, Nov. 19.
