The Philadelphia Eagles are determined to bounce back from a disappointing end to their season, and they’re looking to new offensive coordinator, Kellen Moore, for assistance. DeVonta Smith, one of the Eagles’ star wide receivers, has a straightforward request when it comes to what he wants from Moore.

During an interview with Smith and A.J. Brown, Kay Adams asked the duo to share their “one wish” regarding what they’d like from Moore. Smith’s response reflects a desire for simplicity; he believes that Moore doesn’t need to reinvent the wheel in Philadelphia.

“Just let us do what we do.”

When Adams sought clarification, Smith simply stated, “just give us the ball,” eliciting laughter from both himself and Brown.

In fairness, Brian Johnson, the Eagles’ former offensive coordinator, had already achieved significant success with this approach before his departure. Brown and Smith both managed to surpass 1,000 receiving yards and received over 100 targets, each scoring seven touchdowns in the process.

Smith capped off another outstanding season with an impressive Wild Card Weekend performance, catching eight of his 12 targets for 148 yards. Unfortunately, the rest of the team struggled during this game, resulting in a 32-9 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in which they managed just 42 rushing yards.

Following this early playoff exit, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni acknowledged that the team’s offense had become somewhat stagnant towards the end of the season. To address this issue, he entrusted Moore with the reins of the offense. Moore, who previously led the Dallas Cowboys to having the top-ranked offense in 2019 and 2021, spent the previous season with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Despite the disappointing conclusion to the season, it’s worth noting that the Eagles still managed to rank eighth in total offense and seventh in scoring. With the dynamic duo of DeVonta Smith and Brown at his disposal, Moore has the necessary tools to spearhead a resurgence in Philadelphia.
